Expanded in-person Public Services Starting June 29

The Library, Information, and Technology Services Department (LITS) thank you again for your understanding and perseverance as our community has adapted together to these challenging times. Like you, we're relieved that the situation is improving, and are glad to announce the following plans for further restored service options. Our goal as always is to provide outstanding service while maintaining our commitment to safety.

Most importantly, the LITS department is glad to announce that we will expand in-person public services in Kentucky. Starting on 29 June 2020, we will be extending our hours on Monday through Friday to 8 am - 6 pm and adding hours on Saturday from 10 am - 2 pm. Staff will be available at the Help Desk to assist you however possible. We highly encourage all patrons to wear a mask (a surgical or N95 mask is not required) when visiting the Library Building.

  • The Main Collection and Periodical Stacks will be available; however, in order to ensure social distancing, access will be by appointment only.
  • A limited number of study spaces will be available on the first (quiet) and second floors.
  • Books can be placed on hold through the library system (directions here) and will be ready for pickup within three business days of placing the hold (the patron will be notified that their items are ready).
  • Checked-out materials can be returned to the Help Desk for check-in.
  • We continue to encourage remote appointments (e.g. through zoom and email) whenever possible; however, face-to-face appointments, subject to specific guidelines, will be available for the Writing Center, Research, Technology support, and Instructional Design for people who specifically request them.

Of course, all LITS support staff will also remain available remotely as well -- by email at helpdesk@asburyseminary.edu, by phone, and through Zoom meetings -- to respond to your requests quickly and thoroughly.
