Don Sweigard

Don Sweigard
Director of Technology Support

Expertise:

  • Infrastructure cabling and fiber-optics
  • Hardware repair
  • Technical support for users
  • Sound system support

Education:

  • Bachelor of Christian Education
  • Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology

Don Sweigard's role covers a lot of technology areas for the Seminary. His area is in charge of all of the servers, the network, the internet connections, and all connections to Orlando, Nashville, and Memphis. They are also responsible for all of the technical support to the users at all sites, with any technology need, whether it be servers, computers, printers, phones, card access, sound systems, cameras, or classroom technology. If it is any more technical than a pen and paper, they support it. Another big part of having technology is the planning of upgrades, trying to get the most life out of piece of equipment, and the budgeting process, which takes a way more time than he'd like to admit.

Don is from Canada. He and his wife Lenore were here back in the 80's for her to get a degree, and they liked it so much that they moved back here in 1991. They have two sons that live in the area. He is very involved with the AV Team at Wilmore Free Methodist Church, and when he's not here, he's usually there.
