Examples in this guide are based on:

American Psychological Association. (2010). Publication manual of the American Psychological Association. Washington, DC: American Psychological Association.

Many citation sites that help students create bibliographies have not updated their information to include the recent changes to APA style. Check with your professors to see which version of APA style you should use for your classes.

For further APA guidance, see the Publication manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th ed.

The American Psychological Association maintains a page of supplemental materials that are referenced from, but not printed in, the actual manual. The APA released a list of corrections to the first printing (July 2009) online. Please refer to this list for corrections that might not appear in your version of the APA Publication Manual.
