Assessment Primer

The Assessment Primer is designed to guide those who have assessment oversight of Academic Programs and Institutional Operations. This document provides instruction for continuous improvement processes and strategies that are applicable to the accreditation endeavors of the seminary.

Options for Generating Data

The appropriate Area and/or School for each degree program prepares program-specific assessment instruments in light of the Program Level Outcomes for that program and administers these instruments annually. Among the tools for assessment that are available are:

  • Student Learning Outcomes as submitted through IEA
  • Student Course Evaluations
  • Entering Student, Graduating Student, and Alumni Surveys (with comparison with comparable institutions through tATS)
  • Focus Groups
  • Faculty survey, Staff survey, or other surveys which are approved by the Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment Team or Institutional Review Board
  • Other Relevant assessment such as benchmarking
