- Schools set Assessment Plans, including courses, assignments, and rubrics to use for program learning outcome (PLO) assessment
- Each semester, IEA used the plans to notify Faculty who are teaching assessed courses in Canvas & ensure data is collected
- Each semester, Faculty complete their PLO assessment in Canvas by the grading deadline.
- IEA gathers the data into various reports and sends those to the schools & program coordinators for review
- Schools use the data in their yearly review of the degrees, as well as in their periodic program review, making data-informed decisions for continuous improvement, including needed adjustments to Assessment Plans, PLOs, rubrics, curriculum, etc.
- Repeat!
Specifically, the steps for Faculty to complete outcomes assessment in Canvas is:
- Each semester, IEA sends an initial email notifying the faculty who are teaching courses used for PLO assessment in Canvas
- IEA will send additional reminder emails as needed throughout the semester.
- IEA works with faculty to ensure the right outcomes rubrics are added within grading rubrics and attached to the appropriate assignments
- Guides on various aspects of the process are listed further down on the page
- Faculty complete assessment scoring in Speedgrader, either as part of their grading process, or anytime afterwards until the end of the semester.
- All outcomes assessment in Canvas must be completed by the grading deadline.
