Quick Overview of Canvas Outcomes Assessment Process

  1. Schools set Assessment Plans, including courses, assignments, and rubrics to use for program learning outcome (PLO) assessment
  2. Each semester, IEA used the plans to notify Faculty who are teaching assessed courses in Canvas & ensure data is collected
  3. Each semester, Faculty complete their PLO assessment in Canvas by the grading deadline.
  4. IEA gathers the data into various reports and sends those to the schools & program coordinators for review
  5. Schools use the data in their yearly review of the degrees, as well as in their periodic program review, making data-informed decisions for continuous improvement, including needed adjustments to Assessment Plans, PLOs, rubrics, curriculum, etc.
  6. Repeat!
